Storz & Bickel Crafty Vaporizer Review

by David Hughes on August 09, 2015

The Crafty portable Vaporizer by Storz & Bickel is currently the smallest one of their range. Well Known for their desktop Vaporizer the Volcano, Storz & Bickel have been around for a while and the brand has built a reputation for making quality, durable vaporizers and the Crafty is no exception.

The Crafty the smaller brother to the Mighty vaporizer is also crafted into an elegant ribbed durable plastic shell/casing and measures in at about 110mm x 56mm x 33mm and weighs 136 grams making it small enough to conceal in your pocket, something that all portable vaporizers should be capable of in my opinion. It is not the smallest, most portable vaporizer on the market as there are a few much smaller than the Crafty available like the Pax 2 for example.

The Crafty has some wonderful features, Storz & Bickel really Know how to add all the ’whistles & Bells’ when making Vaporizers. To start with the Crafty is extremely easy to use with little to no learning curve simply load it up with your favourite blends and herbs or Oils and away you go. When it comes to vaping with the crafty you won’t be disappointed, the vapor quality from this unit is great, one of the best I have come across so far and what makes it truly stand out is how simple it is to use as some vaporizers can take some time in learning how to truly get the best from them, but I feel you won’t have this problem with the Crafty and to add another plus it is extremely simple to clean.

So on to these ‘whistles & bells’ the Crafty has 2 main heat settings. You have the default setting (180c) and a boost setting (195c) but with the use of your android or iphone you can use Storz & Bickel’s app to adjust temps to as low as 40c up to 210c. The App has a few more functions from adjusting led brightness, notifications, temp guides and battery life display and makes a great addition to the Crafty’s arsenal. Average heating up time is around 2 minutes which isn’t to bad.

The battery in the Crafty is perhaps its only drawback as it only has a short operation time compared to the majority of other portable vaporizers. The battery is an rechargeable internal l-ion and i found it would give me around 40-50 minutes use before it needed recharging, as a plus point you can use the unit while its charging (pass through charging) it also has the the benefit of usb connections so you can practically charge it wherever you are.
